Prefrosh are here!

Thanks for coming out to the club fair to hear us! We had an excellent time singing for you all. For some it was their last OoC performance, and so we're sad to see Artie and Jessica, graduate OoC. You guys rock!

Harmony Sweepstakes - Saturday, March 10th, 7:30pm, Hermosa Beach Playhouse

Thanks to all who came to Love Sucks X and made it a great concert! Now that we're finished with being bitter about love, we're going to the beach!

That's right, Out of Context is going to the Hermosa Beach Playhouse for Harmony Sweepstakes, one of a cappella's premier competitions! If you'd like to come join us on the beach and hear some exciting a cappella, e-mail us at ooc@caltech.edu. The cost is $15 per ticket for associated students, which is about the cost of one CDS dinner. So come, enjoy the beach, and support your local a cappella group!

Love Sucks X - Saturday, February 24th, 3.00pm-5.00pm,

Dabney Lounge

Love is a many-splendored thing... unless you just broke up or are single, in which case it's that annoying feeling everyone's a flutter about. Well, now you have an opportunity to commiserate with kindred disillusioned spirits. Out of Context and Fluid Dynamics will be singing all the anti-love songs we can think of, and so will some great guest groups too.

So if you've ever been dumped, duped, or disappointed by love, you should come to listen to us!

(4) been compacted beyond the fermion degeneracy pressure...

you have to come to Decompression!

We'll sing our latest songs, clap, shake, and even pretend to dance!

First of all, a gi-normous thank you to everyone who came to Love Sucks last week. All of the groups sang wonderfully, and you guys, the audience, were equally most excellent. We're still totally psyched from the concert, so...

We're happy to announce that we'll have not one, but TWO East Coast groups arriving on campus to sing for Decompression! They are Drew University's On a Different Note and Columbia University's Uptown Vocal. They'll be singing on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, while you folks enjoy one last meal before winter finals. If you want to hear us though, never fear because we'll be opening them up. Come along for some free food and awesome singing!

OoC 2006 Website is Here! - Friday, December 30th, 2:15 am

Happy New Year Everybody!

The OoC website is undergoing renovation (read:being updated) in preparation for the new year! Here are some of the things in store for OoC 2006 Website:

~~~> Biographies for everyone, from everyone!
~~~> Pictures of your favorite group at events!

~~~> Alumni bios for all you old-timers!
~~~> New color scheme! Instead of white on blue, the new colors will be ivory on dark cerulean!

~~~> Actual updates of the main page! That's right, the calendar will no longer be stuck in a perpetual September! Yay!
~~~> More song clips! When we get a chance to record, that is...

~~~> More exclamation points, brought to you by the King of All Cosmos!!!!!
The website staff (read:me and sometimes that other guy) will be working day and night to improve your viewing pleasure. Well, maybe whenever we have free time. But rest assured, we don't have enough new stickers to put on the website to show all the new content, so just assume it's all new.
OoC Performing @ Decompression - Sunday, December 4th, 7:15 pm, Winnett Lounge
Out of Context is planning to entertain the Caltech undergrad community with exciting new songs this Sunday, at Winnett, beginning 7:15 pm. You don't want to miss out on the first song - it's going to get Decompression started.
It's only the second game of the season, at home against Cal State-East Bay, 4:50 pm at Braun Athletic Center on campus. Iff you want to hear most excellent singing and maybe watch good basketball (fingers crossed on both), then I know when and where you'll be listening to OoC.
Also, we're performing at Decompression this term! This year Decompression will be held in Winnett from 6 to 8 pm, Sunday before Finals week. Yes, it's almost finals week. No, we haven't studied yet. (Are you crazy?) But that's only because we're working hard to polish our old and new songs until they shine. Come to Decompression, get your free burger on, and enjoy our awesome singing.
Hookslide Concert! - Friday, May 13th, 2005
OoC is proud to welcome Hookslide to the Caltech campus! Come to Ramo Auditorium this Friday to hear the incredible mix of hard rockin rhythms and smooth four-part harmonies of this San Francisco treat. The concert is free; not free as in "free speech" but more like "free beer". No, we're not giving out beer, it's a metaphor silly. Go read the FSF website if you're still confused. But don't read it on Friday night, because that's when you're going to the concert!
For more information about this incredible group, visit http://www.hook-slide.com/. This event was made possible through the generosity of the Moore-Hufstedler Fund.
